Back Country Cuisine heater packs are a flameless heater with an insulated cover to stop heat from escaping and to prevent scalding.

The flameless heater works from the reaction of water with the heater pack contents (mainly powdered magnesium) to generate heat which is then transferred to the food pack. For a single serve, attach one heater pack to the front of the pouch, or for a two serve attach one pack to each side. Simply attach the heater pack by placing the band around a Back Country Cuisine meal. Add the required amount of water to the food pouch. Tear the top section of the heater pack off and add 1/5 cup of water.

Within 20 minutes the water added to the heater pack will react with the powdered magnesium to generate enough heat to heat the meal.

Back Country Cuisine heater packs are entirely safe to use and do not affect the taste of the meal in any way. They are a great option for those unable to source boiling water, or looking for hassle-free meal preparation.
